Privacy policy

By louisiana.id Editorial · Published October 3, 2026 · Last reviewed · How we research

Effective October 11, 2026. This policy explains what louisiana.id collects, why, and the choices you have. louisiana.id is an independent, privately operated website. This page is a plain-language description, not legal advice.

What we collect

  • Form submissions. If you request the free guide, contact us or submit a business, we collect what you enter (such as name, email, ZIP/postal code, phone and message). These are stored in a Google Sheet controlled by louisiana.id (via Google Apps Script) and used to respond to you or deliver what you asked for.
  • Approximate location and IP address with forms. When a page contains a form, your browser may request an IP-based location lookup from ipwho.is (a third-party service) and add the result, including your IP address, to the form data you submit. We skip this lookup if you choose "Reject" in the cookie banner.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-GJ4R4BRB11) to understand which pages are used. It collects usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, referrer and approximate location, and uses cookies. If you choose "Reject" in the cookie banner we turn off analytics storage for your browser.
  • Hosting. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes requests and may keep technical logs.
  • Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.

Affiliate links

Some links go to partners such as Amazon and travel booking partners. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those partners set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies. See the affiliate disclosure.

Cookies and your choices

The cookie banner records your choice in your browser's local storage. "Reject" turns off Google Analytics storage and the IP-location lookup. You can also clear site data in your browser at any time.

Retention and deletion

We keep form submissions until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed to respond to you. To request access, correction or deletion, use the contact form and tell us the email address you used.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when practices change.
